We are excited to announce the 2025 Graduate Student Symposium, Critical Disruptions: Reimagining Global Politics in the Wake of Crises, scheduled for April 25, 2025, at the School of Public and International Affairs, University of Cincinnati!

The convergence of multiple global crises—from the COVID-19 pandemic to climate change, technological disruption to geopolitical realignments, and ongoing violent conflicts—has fundamentally challenged traditional frameworks of global politics and governance. The Graduate Student Symposium  invites abstracts to have critical conversations around how these overlapping disruptions create both imperatives and opportunities for reimagining international relations, political structures, and human society at large.

The Graduate Student Symposium will offer graduate students an amazing opportunity to present research, share ideas, receive feedback from faculty, and network with peers. We are particularly interested in contributions that challenge conventional paradigms and propose alternative visions for global political futures. We welcome submissions from graduate students across disciplines and at all stages of their study and encourage presentations that are accessible to an interdisciplinary audience and that foster dialogue across fields.

The one-day in-person symposium will be held at the University of Cincinnati, Clifton Court Hall, with special presentations given by Dr. Laila Farah (DePaul University) and Dr. Ghassan Moussawi (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign).
